In May 2008, Ms. Faith Nsubuga set on a second journey to Moroto Karamoja. The trip which took two month to accomplish was very successful. Her first trip to the region was to select the land location as we were given two choices. On behalf of the ministry, Faith selected the site in Rupacounty. Her second return to the area was for research purposes and to establish relationships with the elders, local government and other egencies working in the area. Before her return at the end of June she had accoplished all the four goals set for this particular tripa, and at the same time introduced the ministry vision. We are grateful for the outpouring hospitality she received by all she met and the long time relationships that have developed.

The research phase began in Kampala where traffic is barely regulated. It is dangerous to drive in Kampala city as each driver creates his/her path to reach their destination.

On March 13 2008, The Karamojong elders in Moroto district with the oversight of the local government officials sat and made the land donation to the ministry legal. As you can see, there is no building big enough to host such an important meeting so it was conducted according to tradition under a tree. One great tradition among the Karamojong is that they respect and trust the elders to make good decisions concerning them. They meet twice a year regularly to hear disputes and make decisions concerning survival. On this particular occasions, a meeting was called and the land transfertook two days to finish. The local elders took their tme to aggree on where and how much land to alocate. The local government helped with the paper work and signitures of all those present. We are grateful for the elders in this region for granting the ministry the opportunity to be among them, and for the local government oversight this smooth transition. In 2010, we begin we transition to phase 1 of the 12 year plan for the region.
